Story
This is Rhea and Danni's story...
'When I was 5 years old, Mum 33, she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. This was the start of my Mums most incredible and inspirational journey. The hospital became our second home, and my childhood was filled with day trips to oncology and being by Mums side at many many appointments.
After having won the fight between her and her first obstacle in life, she found a second lump in her shoulder. This was then followed by a tumour on the brain. But again she won the fight. The day after the tumour removal operation she was as good as new.. it was as if none of the past few years had ever happened, she was my mum again. Things were good.
However. In 2017 my Mum was diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time, this time it was on the lung, in the lung, spreading onto the second lung and around her heart. Things weren’t the best this time. But like always we kept faith and kept all of our plans for the future.
We tried chemo, radiotherapy, liquid draining, antibiotics and steroids to control the situation. On Tuesday the 26th of June we moved Mum into St Peter’s Hospice, which originally was to control the pain she was in. On Thursday we received the results of Mums most recent scan, and there was then hope to try another round of chemo. Hope was what we was holding onto. But within the next few days things took a turn for the worst. On Friday she was rushed to Southmead Hospital for emergency draining of the lung. The following morning my mum had passed away. The procedure was unsuccessful. We tried everything we could for her, but this time she was too ill.
Losing my mum has had to be one of the most hardest things I have ever experienced, however I am so grateful my sister and I was able to be by her side holding her hand as she left this earth so peacefully.'
Its hard enough losing your mum at such a young age, never mind your home and your security. Rhea was living with her mum but will soon have to give back that house which was her home. She is currently living with her sister Danni however as any one can imagine times are tough. Anything you can give will go to these's two beautiful young girls to help set up their new life.
