I've raised £4000 to help complete the urgent Restoration works at St. Matthew's Church, Netley Marsh

Rev'd John ran the Nice-Cannes Marathon on Sunday 3 November. He ran the 26.2 miles under the cloudless skies of the Cote d'azur - with plenty of hydration stations along the way! These marathons don't get any easier for John, but the feelings of exhilaration and achievement when the Finisher's Medal is handed over never diminishes. You can catch video footage of John's marathon story at his instagram page @godblessohyes
The Restoration works at St. Matthew's Netley Marsh are reaching a critical juncture as plans have been completed to resolve the serious subsidence issues in the chancel and sanctuary area of the church. The extent of these issues only became apparent once the concrete had been laid in the main nave section of the church earlier this year. The necessary excavation works have proved extensive in ascertaining the nature of the problem and its solution. Our structural engineer and architect now have a plan which guarantees the problem will be sorted. This is fantastic news!
So, we are currently raising the necessary funds to ensure this long-term community project reaches its conclusion in 2025. The vast majority of our funding comes from donations - both large and small - which we are incredibly grateful for. The donation you make really makes a difference to us. We are currently engaged in submitting grant applications to both national and local bodies to maximise the possible funding.
Make this Nice Marathon a marathon to remember - Thank you!
