Retford Football club was founded to keep local young footballers within the game as they cross over from youth football to senior football. Chris Woodhead and Kevin Swannack worked in development football in Retford and decided to start a new team in Retford to keep local players play at a decent standard as there was a void between youth football and senior football in the area. We have worked hard to start this team from scratch and we have been leasing a local football pitch over the last two years however that has come to an end.

This month we have managed to secure our own home at Babworth Railway Ground in Retford with an exclusive 5 year lease with a rolling lease available. We want to develop the ground creating new changing rooms, creating a good pitch and facilities. Also improve the surrounding areas for people to come and watch these local young football players.
We are a FA Charter standard club and pride ourselves on being a local club for local players.
We have good local coaches from Level 1 to UEFA B standard and eventually we would like to develop the club as a whole in the future with other teams.
