Story

On Sunday April 21st, I will be running in the London Marathon to raise funds for The Jordan Legacy CIC, a small organisation which does a huge amount nationally to help prevent suicides. To ensure I help them raise as much money as possible, this year I’m also going to be running the Bridges to Boundaries ultramarathon, Edinburgh Marathon and The Wall ultramarathon.

Why am I putting myself through all these challenges?

On 26th February 2023, I made an attempt to end my own life, following a long period of struggling with an alcohol addiction. On 27th of February this year, I am going to be one year sober. I’ve also stopped smoking and gambling because of the devastating impact these addictions were having on my mental health

All the time I experienced these addictions, I was trying to stop but found there was barely any help or support available. Or if there was, I didn't know where it was or how to access it.

Improving mental health and supporting others who are experiencing the kind of problems I’ve been through is really important to me. I want to show those who are struggling that there is hope, no matter how low they are and how hopeless they might be feeling.

Please support me and The Jordan Legacy by helping raise vital funds to help them to keep doing what they are doing.

My first event is 16/03, with London marathon on 21/04 then Edinburgh on 26/05 and the wall (70 mile ultra along Hadrian's wall) three weeks later. The events are going to come thick and fast but I'm excited for the challenge.
