Iʼve raised £260 to provide support to men who have lost their jobs during the coronavirus pandemic. This will be meaningful weekly support which will help.

TARGET HAS BEEN REACHED BY CASH DONATIONS! Thank You for your support.

***Please note it may take up to 3 days for your donation to show***

Male suicide is at a two decade high since the Coronavirus Pandemic and in 2020/2021 alone 3 of our male friends have unfortunately taken their own lives. Whilst there is various types of support available more can be done to assist men.

Having worked in the employability sector for over 20 years we know full well of the trend between unemployment and mental health. These 3 men were all made redundant in 1 worked in the same job for 27 years, they all found it difficult to find employment. Whilst we supported 1 of them with some work in December this work stopped in January due to the lockdown.

As a father of 5 myself I have also experienced difficulties due to unemployment/amongst other things, for this reason for the last 7 years I have been assisting many men throughout the whole of the West Midlands where we meet up each week to confidentially talk about how our weeks have been, those who can afford put £5 into a kitty and purchase some food and drinks for the meeting. Unfortunately this meetings have stopped during the pandemic and frankly put they cannot be attended by some on zoom, it also does not have the same impact.

This money will be used for me to set up a weekly meeting and a 121 real hands on job club initially in the Black Country where myself or my team can assist the men with Job Search using our wide range of contacts and expertise. We will purchase some laptops, refreshments, a mobile to apply for jobs, stationary and a printer. A non office type venue will be provided free of charge by one of our many contacts. We can also use the money should anyone require urgent assistance that maybe Jobcentreplus or other training providers cannot support - This surprisingly happens more than you would ever know.

I will personally commit to 1.5days per week to provide intense 121 support (weekends if need be) for the men who attend this Job Club. I am a qualified Mentor to Level 5 and have led on national campaigns leading on addiction and disorders.

Help us to save some lives. 75% of all suicides in the UK are male.
