I've raised £5000 to Fundraiser challenges to raise £5000 for outdoor facilities for children at Redgate SEN school

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.
This message is going out to say a very big thankyou to all parents, friends, family and colleagues who have come on board to get involved in this fundraising event so far through sponsoring personally, encouraging family and friends to sponsor, and volunteering to take part in physical challenges and other fundraising events..
Over the years the numbers of children attending Redgate have increased due to a growing need for Special School provision and parental preference for children to attend the Academy.
Our Academy boasts some good outdoor spaces, all of which children access on a daily basis, however there is a great need have facilities and equipment to help provide structured movement to support the children’s physical and sensory needs and play-skills development. There is extensive research outlining the physical, social and emotional health benefits of learning and play in the outdoor environment for all children, and this is even more important for children with SEN. Children at Redgate love being outdoors and benefit emotionally from being in the natural enviromement amongst the changing seasons and element. The ethos of the school is to thread outdoor learning and play through all areas of the curriculum.
Our school council members have gathered the views of children across the academy and at the top of their wish list is a trim trail for our outdoor field area.
We have set the fundraising challenge at £5000 to give the children their wish, however, to give them a robust trim trail that will last them throughout their time at Redgate we need at least double that amount.
Redgate’s Sports Relief virtual challenge
Skegness to Blackpool (155 miles)
Friday the 13th is Sport Relief day. Getting involved in Redgate’s Sports Relief challenge is a great way to get our whole school moving and having fun together. By joining in, you'll also be raising money to change lives across the UK and around the world as well as raising funds towards Redgate’s new trim trail. Our Sports Relief challenge this year is a variation of the Sports Relief Mile, 155 of them to be exact. Using Bikes, scooters, running and walking (including the Bleep test) and using the field and its path, top playground and the school hall we will hopefully complete the challenges miles by the end of the day
