    Story

The funeral will be held on the 14th June 2021 at 11:00am at St Augustine church in Daventry. In loving memory of Rebelo Costa, who sadly passed away on Thursday 20th May 2021. Your life with us will always be remembered.

Thank you for all your support during these very difficult days. It has meant a lot to know everyone has such fond memories of Ruby and there is comfort in hearing the stories and ancedotes of a life he has shared with us all.

Ruby: Husband, son, brother, god-father, relative, friend and overall dare devil. Ruby had an infectious smile which he offered to every one he met, particularly when on the dance floor. His signature move was often seen at parties, clearing the dance floor to allow him more room to move.

Ruby was born in Mozambique and then moved to Portugal where he spent the majoirty of his childhood and young adult life. Ruby loved the beach, body surfing, football, basketball and most of all socialising with friends. Ruby was a very proud of his Portuguese hertiage and would easily be a tour guide for his home town which he was only too willing to share with Trisha.

He served in the army and to this day he reflected fondly. recalling stories and the adventures he had been on during his service. If a stag-do was around the corner you would often find Ruby trying to convince the groom to jump out of a plane, as it was an experience that remained with him for his adult life.

In 2000, Ruby moved to England where he lived in Reading and Daventry if you were lucky enough to set foot in the local nightclub, The Square, you would have found Ruby in the middle of the dance floor (regardless of the genre of music!), life and soul of the party, always smiling, always dancing, with a great group of friends surrounding him. As happy as Ruby portrayed on the outside, he was fighting a silent battle with diabetes, but that never stopped him from being his true, friendly, kind-natured self.

When it came to family, no matter the size of the favour, day or night, friend or family he would always be there. Ruby took pride in his appearance gathering a healthy collection of watches and clothes. He loved his family dearly, at family gatherings he was often found with a glass of wine or a glass of whisky - keeping it classy.

Whilst it's tragic to think about Ruby leaving us too soon, he left behind a lifetime of memories that we can celebrate and share together.

There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved - George Sand
