We would like to support our beautiful friend Dawn and her family. Dawn is an incredibly brave, inspirational woman, mother & wife.
Dawn married her childhood sweetheart at 21 & had two beautiful daughters. For a while life was idyllic. Sadly at 26 her husband was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease (a progressive brain disorder) Knowing that her daughters would lose their father at a young age, she was positive & created as many wonderful memories as she could as a family. However life became increasingly difficult for all the family and after trying to save her marriage it broke down. As many people do, Dawn picked herself up & worked incredibly hard as a fulltime teacher &being a full time fantastic Mum.
In Nov 2014 Dawn’s world was rocked once more when she was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer with spreading to lymph nodes, there was no known breast cancer in the family, so being diagnosed at 33 years of age came as a massive shock to everyone. Dawn was diagnosed with BRCA1 breast cancer gene & was told both her girls could also be carrying the gene as well as the Huntington's disease gene. Absolutely devastated she ploughed on, a double mastectomy, hysterectomy, chemo & radiotherapy followed & she was finally given the all clear in August 2015. During this horrendous time, she found happiness with her new partner Steve. He was amazing! He was an incredible support throughout Dawn's treatment & proposed soon after she was given the all clear. They married last May & began to live their happily ever after together. March 25th 2017 Dawn found a new lump. After scans & tests the oncologist confirmed that her cancer had returned, this time she was given the devastating news that the cancer is incurable. Steve being the Angel he is has promised to take care of her girls. However after the initial shock, Dawn has once again picked herself up ready for the fight of her life!We would like to raise funds for Dawn, Steve & the girls to make memories X
