Sammy came to live with us in June 2016 after being rescued by Cristina from a car park in Romania where he had been abandoned and hit by a car.

For decades animal activists have protested, pleaded and negotiated with the Romanian Government to stop slaughtering the estimated 50 to 100 thousand stray dogs that live on the streets in the capital city of Bucharest alone.

These dogs lead pathetic lives scrounging for food and being hunted down by dog catchers who are notorious for their brutal killings.

The population of stray dogs isn't helped by Romanian's dumping much loved pets on to the streets.

Many of the dogs will never reach adulthood as they will either be caught by dog catchers, starve to death or killed on the roads. This leaves many very young pups and young adults to scrounge for what food and shelter they can get. Until a mass spay and neuter campaign is agreed this will continue to happen.

Cristina is an inspiration and puts every possible effort into rescuing these dogs from horrific endings. Seeing Sammy adapt to his life in the UK has been such a pleasure and everyday he becomes more confident, loving and our perfect dog.

We are taking part in rough runner on April 8th 2017 in Hampshire. Its a TV inspired obstacle mud run where we will have to swing, crawl, climb, dodge and jump our way to the finish line! It's going to be tough but please sponsor us to give Cristina as much support as possible and help more of these poor dogs get the same ending as our beautiful Sammy.
