Story

I am running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 27th May 2018 to raise money to help set up a medical clinic for the rural community of Seeta Nazigo, near the town of Mukono in Uganda, a local population of approximately 10,000 people. This is a very remote area, in the hills and accessible by mud tracks for many miles from a main road, and the local community does not have ready access to the most basic of healthcare. Pastor David Musoke of the Zion Church and the Seeta Nazigo Aids Project Primary School has the vision of setting up a medical clinic on site, and already has a piece of land identified, and an architect's plan of a single storey building to house the clinic. We have discussed ways for the local community to be fully on board and take ownership once the clinic is up and running, and the director of the nearest hospital in Mukono has and will continue to provide advice. Stockton Baptist Church had already raised a sum of money last year towards this project, but it is not enough and I very much feel that it will be my honour to help raise more funds towards it. YOUR help is greatly appreciated!
