Story

Charli Warren and Lesley Robertson have dug deep into their own pockets to purchase the Hall situated on Leslie High Street. When they heard it was up for sale, they decided that they wanted to buy it and convert it into a community hall for all residents in Leslie to use. Their vision is to unite the community by using the centre to hold fitness classes, coffee mornings and functions for children and adults with disabilities to name but a few.

I personally, am Lesley's cousin and I was humbled when they both asked me to help them get their project up and running and I can not wait to help them achieve their vision.

The purchase of the hall is progressing nicely and all being well, we are hoping they will get the keys towards the end of August, when it will become "Rainbow Rooms". As soon as they have the keys and before we can start planning any events, the hall needs to be internally renovated, as its previous use was for dog training. The walls need painting and decorating and the floors need to be stripped and re-varnished. There is also the prospect of buying minor furnishings such as materials for curtains and materials to upgrade the kitchen.

Having funded this purchase out of their own pocket and knowing that they will need to invest more money for the renovations, I asked their permission to set up this page. I thought as a community, we could help them fund the renovations so that they are not having to dig so deep into their own pockets.

Although the target is only £1000, they estimate the renovations could cost up to £5000 and are preparing to fund the difference themselves. So anything you can afford to donate would be greatly appreciated and will be spent on the renovation projects.

Thank you for your consideration and I can not wait to meet you all when the Rainbow Rooms has its grand opening.
