Story
We are the sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews of Hugh Donnelly a resident of Railway Court Supported Living Accommodation for Adults with Learning Disabilities situated on the Dromore Road Omagh.
Railway Court is a complex of 6 No. 3/4 bedroom bungalows with shared living facilities. Railway Court provides a safe environment with staff available 24 hours a day supporting residents and providing the necessary care and supervision in their daily lives.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic it hasn't been possible to visit or interact with these very special people since the beginning of March which has proved very stressful for both families and residents. Hopefully in the not too distant future restrictions will be eased and we will be in a position to have contact again, with strict social distancing and good hygiene procedures in place.
We would like to raise funds to purchase some portable, free standing hand sanitising units/ hand washing facilities which can be positioned externally, therefore, encouraging all visitors, delivery drivers, staff and residents to practice good hand hygiene procedures on entry and exit of the properties.
We intend climbing Mullaghcarn, which is a mountain in the southwest Sperrins Co.Tyrone. The peak reaches 542m, on the edge of Gortin Glen Forest Park followed by a 5km walk/run. Some of the residents and staff of Railway Court will participate in the walk to finish off the Fundraiser.
They are very excited and looking forward to this challenge on 4th July 2020.

4 years ago24 members of our family successfully completed the climb of Mullaghcarn followed by 5 k walk. Staff, residents and some of their family members joined us for part of the walk, they were very excited as they paraded with some hand made banners. We have bought 3 sturdy free standing units for outside and 6 counter top unit for inside. With the excess money we have ordered some comfortable garden furniture for the tenants as they are outdoors more due to lockdown. We will meet management to discuss what else they could benefit from.
