Iʼve raised £302 to help the people who have fled from Rohingya & require basic necessities & the hundreds affected by the attrocities against Muslims in Burma.

    Story

I think its safe to say that almost all of us are aware of the tragedies taking place not just now but for decades, in Burma. The Rohingya, are known as "the world's most persecuted minority" & have long been denied the most basic civil freedoms. They have undergone an identity crisis for decades which has only gotten more problematic & violent over time.

Ethnic cleansing is what occurred during the holocaust, a genocide people have not forgotten till this day. An occurrence which people shun, despise & discourage, yet somehow, somewhere, someone has managed to implement such a regime upon Muslims in a country which is predominantly Buddhist. Unfortunately, these Buddhists refrain from promoting a core principle of Buddhism - peace. They encourage & implement a system in a country where they burn alive, kill, torture, rape, gang rape, tear out unborn babies from within a mother's womb & murder it with their bear hands, hang & massacre Muslims daily, openly & proudly.

Is this acceptable? Is this permissible? Is this humane? Are Burmese Muslims not human? Do they not have rights? What have they ever done to deserve such abhorrent treatment? Is this not discrimination? Is this not a heinous crime? Is this not breaking the UN protocol? Will anybody in authority ever intervene & stop this genocide?

So many questions but no answers. What has this world come to? Why are we all mute on this matter? Why is a Nobel Peace Prize winner allowing this to occur under her power? Why does nobody revoke Aung San Suu Kyi's Nobel Peace Prize? Why does the UN not intervene in this war crime? These victims are fleeing their land for their own safety, yet neighbouring countries do not recognise them as civilians nor refugees. They are unwanted everywhere. Why are Muslim countries refusing to allow them to enter? Why are female leaders who are more known to have bigger hearts implementing & encouraging this regime? Why are feminist leaders turning a blind eye to the rape & gang rape of innocent women & girls? Why is there little media coverage on such tragedies? Why are Muslim states not raising political awareness on this matter? Why are they not aiding these victims? Why is it that only Turkey seems to care & nobody else? Would this be the cause had it been a western country? Would this be the cause had the victims been non-Muslims? Why are we so disloyal to the people who put themselves in dangers way, simply to aid us during WWII? Why are we failing the Ummah as a whole? Has the world become heartless as well as blind? Have we all become deaf as well as inarticulate?

This is my challenge to you all. What are you going to do about it? When are you going to do something about it? How are you going to do something about it? Questions upon questions. Maybe you have the answers.

    Where will this money go?

I plan to travel with SKT Welfare to Bangladesh in October for a duration of 5-6 days, where I will have the privilege of delivering food parcels & visiting the Rohingya refugees. However, the target I must reach in order to join the team on this deployment is £3000. This is because we need to be able to have enough funds to buy essentials & to distribute enough food parcels to our brothers & sisters. I truly hope I can meet this target, despite, having such short time & I entrust you all to help me reach my target.

JazakaAllah Khair to those who have taken out their precious time to read this, to those who have shared my story & to those who have donated towards this beautiful cause. I pray Allah SWT blesses you all abundantly & makes this a means for us to all enter Jannat Ul Firdaus. Ameen!

Would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. Alhamdulilah I have not been selected to join the deployment team this time as I didn't manage to reach the 3k target, on time. Everything happens for the best, I'm forever grateful to you all for helping me raise funds for our family in Rohingya. I plan to carry on raising enough to be able to aid the refugees in person, in 2018 iA. Thus, I have opted to keep this fundraising page open iA. Please keep the donations coming in beautiful people! JazakaAllah Khair for all the support!!!
