QPG Hub * YOUR URGENT SUPPORT IS NEEDED*
Further support needed for Wave Two
QPG Community & Sports Hub has launched its emergency appeal to raise funds to support the most vulnerable residents, including the disabled, the homeless, refugees, asylum seekers and the individuals & families financially struggling, who are self isolating. We are continuing to support people within Queen's Park, Westminster, Brent and across Kensington and Chelsea.
The Corona virus pandemic has caused an unprecedented level of chaos across the globe. Its impact will be felt by many but the weak and vulnerable in our community will be hit the hardest. Many of these families have already been relying on support services which are now being forced to close.
Donate to provide a family food pack to be delivered by QPG volunteers safely to their homes. This pack will contain all the essential food & toiletries, and resident referrals will come via the local mutual aid groups.
Please donate generously and help us support those in need!
Since the beginning of lockdown QPG volunteers have volunteered an average of 11 and half hours a day, supporting the most vulnerable and shielded residents in our community of Queen's Park. Working with limited funding, and relying on food donations from The Felix Project and the wonderful IDA restaurant we have been able to provide food and care packages to over 200 residents over the past three weeks, however, the demand continues to grow daily and as the lockdown is now extended, we need to ensure that as a community group we can support all those who ask for help, this includes the elderly, local children and their families. We provide everything from breakfast clubs, to lunch and dinners 7 days a week, as well as regular shopping.
Simonetta and her lovely family from Ida Restaurant have very kindly given up their free time to prepare over 100 meals a week for the most vulnerable and shielded residents and we and the residents we jointly support could not be more grateful - check them out on this link - https://www.idarestaurant.co.uk
We are also providing education online via our YouTube and social media platforms.
Thank you in advance for your support, your donation will go towards -
- Provide vital ingredients and supplies for meals prepared by IDA restaurant.
- Providing purchased food items and toiletries to the most vulnerable residents.
- Cover the cost of fuel for volunteers, who have several packages to deliver locally.
- Provide home exercise equipment including skipping ropes for all primary children.
- Keep up with the growing demand of emergency items, including some medicines.
- Expand our services to cover the delivery of more breakfast items for families.
- Provide baby and toddler items to those who have registered for this support.
My time volunteering for QPG over the past 3 weeks has allowed me to meet and help over 50 residents a day, across the Avenue's and Mozart. The work QPG does and the hours that are given to the community are invaluable and vital. It is wonderful to see local businesses and non-profits come together" - Ricardo Moore - C-19 response volunteer

QPG Hub Covid Response
5 years agoAnother successful Sunday lunch today, Riccardo spent the morning making a lovely homemade (or in this case, hub made) lasagne which were very kindly delivered across Queen’s Park, Harrow Road, Maida Vale and Ladbroke Grove by QPG hero’s James and Catherine, as part of our seven day service supporting vulnerable and isolated residents. Thank you again for supporting the cause via JustGiving.

QPG Hub Covid Response
5 years agoThis wonderful lady, since the beginning of lockdown has prepared, cooked and packed over 4000 meals with her lovely family in the space of a few short weeks, all whilst keeping her own business running and dealing with our lack of general food knowledge (not knowing the difference between rhubarb and chard, or mistaking red onions for beetroots) Simonetta is one of the most phenomenal women in our community. She has also had to (on many occasions) plan meals without knowing what ingredients were being donated from brilliant The Felix Project.

5 years agoWhere would we be without the dynamic QPG volunteers like Zak, Ryan, Steve and Harriet! (Who have both spent the last 11 weeks delivering breakfasts & hot food) including wonderful donations of fish & chip meals from The SeaShell of Lisson Grove every Thursday. We are so grateful for their time & support and to those who have taken the time to donate 👏 🙏🙌🏼
