Putting a spring back into our step …...

we’re going for a walk!

As you all know, earlier this year the nation lost Captain Sir Tom Moore. A remarkable man and ex-army officer who raised almost £33 million for the NHS by challenging himself to walk 100 lengths of his garden before his 100th birthday. This got us thinking about how we can incorporate this into our own fundraising and honour the great Captain Sir Tom Moore.

So we thought we would take this opportunity to not only raise some money for our chosen charities, The Pepper Foundation; DENS; Swan Youth Project and Thomley, but also to boost our well-being with some exercise, fresh air and some Vitamin D from the warmer (fingers crossed) weather.

Working within our ONETEAM value, our collective aim is to walk/run 3300 miles over an 8 week period from 5th April to 30th May; 3300 represents Sir Tom’s £33 million raised. This is all to raise much needed funds for our 4 chosen charities:

The Swan Youth Project offer support & mentoring for young people in Berkhamsted and beyond giving individuals the confidence and platform to speak up about things that matter to them; Somewhere to go. Something to do. Someone to listen.

Thomley, a wonderful centre for children and adults of all abilities and disabilities, providing support for people at any stage of their diagnostic journey, whatever their additional needs.

The Pepper Foundation, a hospice at home service to support and alleviate the suffering of children with complex health needs or life limiting conditions.

DENS, the first port of call for people facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion. They offer support and empower individuals to take the next positive step in their lives.
