    Story

Hi, my name is Ros and in December 2016 I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension CTEPH.

Pulmonary Hypertension CTEPH, you may wonder what this is, I had never heard of it until I was diagnosed last December and given just two weeks to live. It is a rare progressive condition only affecting around 6- 7000 people in the UK. Pulmonary Hypertension is high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, these are the tubes that carry blood to the heart, if you have PH the high blood pressure in your lungs means the right side of your heart has to work harder to pump the blood and over time it becomes weaker and then causes heart failure. CTEPH stands for Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension which was the type of PH I had which meant I had blood clots blocking these arteries. I was very lucky and was offered a lifesaving operation and six months later although still in a wheelchair I am doing so much better and I am wanting to give something back to those amazing people who saved my life and raise some funds and awareness for research hence my charity event.

I am going to be holding a coffee and cake morning on the 22nd July 2017 at Norton Methodist Community Hall Letchworth Hertfordshire We will have alternative therapists, gift stalls, name the hippo, guess the number of sweets and were also hoping to get a few motorbikes down there for a small show. People have been so kind donating prizes for our raffle. Its going to be a great day.

I've had a few people saying that they can't make the day but would love to be able to give to this great cause so I have made this page to make it easier for people to donate.
