Story
Unfortunately I have been suffering from a shoulder injury for a few months which prevented me entering the truck pull as originally planned, however there is a first-timers strong man competition at the gym in February which I am going to aim for instead to do the fund raising event.
More info to come!
Background
On the 29th October 2017 AJ Stephenson passed away in the RVI hospital in Newcastle. He fought for a number of years against rare and complicated medical conditions. In April 2017 we thought there was new hope when AJ was given the gift of a Double Lung transplant but unfortunately died 6 months later due to some exceptionally rare complications from the transplant.
AJ was a warrior, to see the character of my son the words from his head teacher at his funeral says everything - http://ajstephenson.me/aj-funeral-eulogy-mr-baines/
In trying to deal with whats left after AJ has gone I have found myself using the gym as a way to focus my frustration and pain and in training with my good friends Dave Sparks and Jack Allen we have decided that Jack and I will attempt to focus our training at a challenge which will allow us to give something back to the amazing people at Great North Childrens Hospital who have done so much for AJ over the years.
