Paddle Steamer Waverley is the Last Sea Going Paddle Steamer in the world and gives countless pleasure to thousands of people every year and can be seen in many Coastal Area's of the UK and Ireland . She celebrates 70 years since her inaugural cruise in 1947 . With sadness 2017 has not been a good season for the ship with a few cruises cancelled for one reason or another but the biggest issue was an air pump failure at the height of the Glasgow Fair cruises and then on 25/08/2017 the ship had an accident at Rothesay due to a rope being tangled around the Paddle leaving the ship moving forward where she collided with a small concrete slipway next to the promenade . Waverley bounced off the slip but sustained damage to her bow/stem and has had to be rushed to Dry Dock for immediate repairs . More than ever due to the lost revenue of the cancelled sailings I would appreciate your donation to make sure Waverley Excursions Ltd is helped with what must be an onerous time at present . Food and Beverage takings all effected and a Crew that must still be paid are only a part of the daily running of Waverley and many tickets have had to be refunded .
