Let’s power Ukraine! Lifesaver and Techfugees to power Ukrainian refugee phones.
How can Ukrainian refugees get to safety? By using their smartphone! it’s crucial we help them NOW and your contribution can do exactly that!
Lifesaver Power, the cleantech startup on a mission to provide fairer and cleaner products, and Techfugees, the UK tech industry non-profit assisting refugees, will supply pre-charged power banks to Ukrainian refugees.
Throughout March, Lifesaver will be matching the sale and rental of every power bank at The O2 and Cheltenham Festival to continue to support the donation of its power banks at cost price. Every £7 +VAT donated will send a Lifesaver power bank directly to a refugee.
Together, Lifesaver and Techfugees will support getting these power banks to those most in need.
Archie Wilkinson, CEO, Lifesaver, said: “I have personally been brought to tears seeing how many people’s lives have been destroyed overnight by the war in Ukraine. Lifesaver is proud to be a B Corporation and that means using our business for good. With direct contacts and lines into Ukraine, we are donating as many power banks as we can and mobilising our community to support our campaign so we can support Ukrainian refugees and help them stay connected to their families. The business community has a responsibility to use its resources for social good and I hope we all continue to pull together to help those who need it most.”
Mike Butcher, Founder and Chair, Techfugees, said: “Ukrainian refugees don’t just need food and shelter, they need access to information and routes to safety, and today that means the smartphone. But it’s no use without a charger. So we are proud to partner with Lifesaver to help distribute these literally life-saving power banks to refugees both inside and on the borders of Ukraine during the devastating invasion of the country. We want to encourage every individual and business to get involved in this campaign.”
