Story

Ukraine Response Potton Support Fund - for evacuees in Potton

We now have two Ukrainian families in Potton, with hopefully a third family soon. These families have fled Ukraine with very limited posessions and resources and, having paid for their flights to the UK, they are also struggling financially. We are therefore asking for donations so that we can provide essential items and financial support for our Potton Ukrainian evacuees. This Fund is administered by Potton Town Council and hosts will be able to apply for financial support, provided that we have it to give!

The Ukraine Response Potton Group is led by Cllr Lindsay Kitchener and is made up of Town Councillors, volunteers, and representatives of St Mary's Church. We are aware that our Ukrainian guests will need financial support as well as emotional support, especially in their early days in Potton. We have therefore set up a URP Support Fund, with the aim of providing short-term financial support where needed. The fund will also assist with immediate welfare needs where there is a delay in receiving other funding. We are learning as we go along, and our hosts will highlight where financial help is necessary.

Potton Town Council has made a donation to start this Fund, and we are therefore asking that you please also donate to this worthy cause. You can either use this JustGiving page or give your donation directly to Potton Town Council (cash or cheque payable to Potton Town Council).

If you want to get involved in helping the Ukraine Response Potton Group, contact us either by email at urgpotton@gmail.com or by contacting Lindsay Kitchener via Potton Town Council.
