Story

Every three minutes someone in the UK is told they have dementia and sadly there is no cure. We are walking to raise money for our local dementia charity Bloomin Dementia. Formed in 2017, Bloomin' Dementia is a charity focused and committed to the relief of those living with dementia and related disorders in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas.

The Challenge!

As a team we are walking the Derbyshire Portway. The epic 49 mile Derbyshire Portway was an ancient prehestoric trackway. It begins at the Hemlock Stone in Stapleford, Nottingham following the route through Dale Abbey, two hermitages, Alport Height, Robin Hood's Stride, past a stone circle, several hill forts and finally finishes at the top of Mam Tor!

We are planning on completing the 49 miles over 3 continuous days walk, stopping overnight along the way. The challenge is set for 28-30 April 2022.

We also have several mini challengers (aged 5-10) who will be fund raising for their section of the walk. The final challenge! They will be walking the final 5 miles and will finish by climbing the 517 meters to the top of Mam Tor with the rest of the team.

Thank you for any amount you are able to give 😁
