Port Bredy Allstar Majorettes from Bridport in Dorset have been invited to be part of the Jersey Battle of Flowers Parade on the 11th August 2016 and the Moonlight Parade on 12th August 2016. There hasn't been a Majorette Troupe in either of the parades for three years, so to be part of this iconic event is something we are proud and excited to be doing. To be the only Majorette Troupe attending is an absolute honour. We have been part of Carnivals in Dorset and Devon and won the shield for being best Majorette Troupe in Blandford Carnival 2015.

Our Troupe is aged between 6 and 16 years of age and have been training hard on the routines we will be performing over there. We have to be able to act on instructions, act as a team, develop individual skills like baton twirling, choreography and marching which in turn raises our self esteem. We give something back to the community by being part of Carnivals and other events linked to wider charity fund raising.

Travelling to somewhere as far away as Jersey and being away from home for three nights is an experience we haven't yet done as Majorettes.

We have been fundraising ourselves and have had some donations to help meet the cost of Coach hire from Bridport to Poole plus return.

However we still need help with our biggest expenses:

The cost of sixteen Majorettes travelling by Ferry to Jersey and back and the accommodation.

We still need to raise £2000 to meet our costs and hope you will help us achieve something amazing.
