Story
Pollokshields Community Food Point - over 14,500 food packs provided since April 2020!
Thanks to all you amazing and generous people we have raised an astonishing amount. Your support has directly helped over 170 households in and around G41 that are struggling to afford food.
We’ve recently lunched out new PMA/Food Point website www.pollokshieldsfoodpoint.org … please check it out!
We’ve also launched our regular giving campaign, more about that on the website.
We’re keeping this page going, just to show how amazing you all are, and as we’re still receiving your very generous donations.
We couldn’t do it without you!
You can also donate food and personal care items (and maybe even and wee treat) directly to us at 423 Shields Rd, between 2-3pm Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays.
Please continue to stay safe and connected to your community!

4 years agoAnother great initiative we’ve been involved with is Glasgow City Council’s ‘Children’s Holiday Food Programme’. Working in partnership with Southside Housing Association, we were commissioned to provide a range of hot food as part of fun activity sessions held at the Bowling Green in Pollokshields and supply food parcels to families in need. We provided 201 food packs targeted at families and a total of 408 lunches for kids during the recent Spring break.

4 years agoA huge thank you to the wonderful folk at www.curlach.co.uk and to their equally wonderful customers, friends and family! Their charity raffle has raised an incredible amount of money in support of the essential work we are doing for and with our community. It can't be easy for our local businesses given the current restrictions, and to choose to use their reach to raise money for local causes at this time is just astonishing. When a community pulls together, we can achieve amazing things! #weareinthistogether #community #curlach

4 years agoWe've reached our target, in just over 5 weeks, all thanks to you amazing and generous people! We are over the moon to know that so many people out there are able to support the vital work that we are doing in the community. We're not going to stop, of course, and will continue to raise funds to support those most in need in our community. Given recent developments we are in even more need of continuing funds to support our work, please keep giving if you can and please pass on our fundraiser to friends and family. Huge thanks to you all!
