**Why is Playtest UK asking its members for donations at this time?**

While Playtest UK is free to join, there are costs involved in running the group from Meetup.com fees to website hosting and stationery. We are looking for donations from our members and friends to help offset these costs for the next six months. Subsequently, our plan is to run a public Kickstarter campaign next year (and in subsequent years) to cover the annual running costs.

In order to get in good shape for the Kickstarter, we are asking our members to support this JustGiving campaign for the next 30 days to raise enough funds to cover a new website, a new logo and the group’s costs during the next six months.

Playtest UK has grown exponentially from one group with around 12 members to 16 groups nationwide (with more to come) and 1,700 members on Meetup.com. To manage this growth, we have recently created a management committee of volunteer members to oversee the operations and expansion of the organisation. We have also opened a Playtest UK bank account to ensure that we can put aside funds to support the public events we run around the country, and to enable new ventures as a community.

We have never previously asked our members for money and there is no obligation to give this time either, but any money that you can spare will be gratefully received.
(The minimum donation allowed by JustGiving is £2. You can choose to keep the amount and your name anonymous if you prefer.)

**What are we fundraising for?**

We are seeking to raise £600 to cover costs for the next 6 months and to improve various aspects of Playtest UK in preparation for an annual Kickstarter campaign in 2017.
