Story

We need your help to raise £5,000 to transform an empty shop into PlayLab and further develop our Playboxes as spaces for creative play, learning and making for people of all ages.

Playful Anywhere is a not-for-profit company dedicated to creating opportunities for good stuff to happen for as many people as possible. We want to bring play and creativity to places all over Leeds and beyond.

Much of what we do with our two shipping containers takes place in Leeds, and for the first time we've secured a centrally located shop, which for the next 6 weeks will be dedicated to inviting people in to play, cook up their own ideas and have fun! We want to test new ways of playing and working in Leeds as well as continuing making slime, robots, talking toys and much more besides.

Your support in helping us kit out the PlayLab, will allow us to build momentum towards the next phase in our development. We've had lots of people tell us this is just what the city needs, and people across Leeds have ideas for PlayLab to host feasts, youth clubs, karaoke and games nights, trailmaking, treasure hunts. We're committed through all our work and particularly at PlayLab to facilitating children's ideas for making this city more playful.

We need specific kit and services such as laptops, PiTops, tablets, tools, furniture, software and tech support. Our PlayCafe would benefit from seating, and some catering equipment. We have plans after this pop-up to create a permanent HQ for Play in the city centre, and help facilitate the next generation of makers of toys and games, so we hope this will 100% kickstart our plans for playful intergalactic domination.

We have set up a list on Amazon as a guide to what your support will enable, though we're committed to sourcing everything from local organisations and companies.

We really need your financial support but if you want to help support us in-kind we are also keen to relieve you of Lego or anything that you can see on the list, that you might have, that's in great working order and for some reason don't need anymore!

Finally there's a brew with your name on it, anytime we're open, if you fancy a chat and as a way of thanking you for your support.
