STAND UP AGAINST PLASTIC POLLUTION

The problem of plastic pollution in the ocean has reached catastrophic proportions - by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

Carlos and Carolyn are both teachers who are passionate about raising awareness of this global threat of plastic pollution. They have given up their jobs to travel across Europe this summer. They will paddle 12 marathons on a SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) that they have made themselves out of plastic bottles.

They will complete their first marathon on La Dordogne in France on World Oceans Day - 8th June before heading to Madrid, Spain and then onto Portugal. They will drive about 10,000km doing a marathon in 12 different countries. They are also offering to build plastic bottle SUPs with any local community or SUP club that is interested so that people can learn how to make these fantastic boards so that anyone can have a go!

They are raising the money to buy camping gear, to pay for petrol for their journey, to buy food and the campsite fees for 3 to 4 months. They are so grateful for every penny. Thanks for your support.
