Story

Having grown up in wyken all my life Pinley RFC has always been a place that was just over the road, being a family of girls we wasnt involved with the Rugby club growing up, other than we would go to the family fun days and bonfire nights or watch the Rugby world cup etc, fast forward a few years and being a mum of boys, my lads joined in with the junior rugby on offer at Pinley and instantly we became a part of a fantastic organisation that is way more than just a rugby club.

Yesterday (17/10/20) was the clubs AGM (annual general meeting) and to be honest like a lot of businesses at the monent it painted a bleak picture, you see Pinley isnt anybody in-particulars business, its owned by the members, so nobody profits out of it at all, all the people who coach the kids from 2 year olds up to 19 year olds are all volunteers, all the people who do jobs to maintain things around the club, all volunteers, but there is siignificant costs associated with running the club on a monthly basis, which is all normally funded through in house fundraising and events like fete days, live music nights, bonfire night and just general rugby games on at the club that brings people through the door. With Covid-19 forcing the club to close completely for 4 months and the restrictions that are in place still now, none of this vital fundraising has been able to happen and things are very tight.

So with the blessing of the Club Committee I have set up this crowdfunding page as i hope there are people who like me would hate to see the loss of such a fantastic venue at the heart of the local community, maybe youve been to a bonfire night here, or one of the summer fun days or the charity football tournaments that have been held here, you might of learnt to ride your bike here or brought your dog along to dog training classes, maybe your dad or grandad played here either for or against Pinley, maybe your grandchildren might want to take up Rugby in the future, im asking no matter what you can afford weather its £50, £5 or even 50p every single penny will go directly to the club to help fund all the costs involved with running the place so it remains for future generations.
