Iʼve raised £4,420 to help fund the needed modifications and purchases for Ralphy's future care while battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)
- Funded on Tuesday, 13th October 2020

Story
In August 2018 Ralphy was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a muscle-wasting condition caused by the lack of a protein called dystrophin. This causes muscle weakness in every muscle of his little body until eventually by the age of around 9 he will be permanently in a wheelchair.
Ralphy along with his parents, big sister Ebony-Rose and little brother Freddy are determined not to let his diagnoses stop them from living life to the full however there are practical considerations needed such as possible extension, wet room, hoists, door widening, ramps etc etc etc
To hopefully help a little way with some of the above the 3 fat lads have been released again, this time attempting the pilgrimage from London to Canterbury Cathedral. Following the original route walking over 76 miles in total we will be tackling it over 3 days carrying our own camping gear and bedding down in the wild. Not happy with covering over a marathon on day one we then have to sleep in a tent and do it all again TWICE so please donate whatever you can.

4 years agoFor those not on Facebook the walk is done! 76miles, average of 58,000 steps a day, blisters, bruises, blood sweat and sore bits that we didn’t know could get sore 😳 A massive thankyou to everyone who donated, gave words of encouragement, shared our page and KM story! Raising awareness and spreading the word is amazing! Lily and myself are so greatfull! It’s not been an easy challenge but seeing everyone rooting for us on donations page or Facebook posts have kept us going! 💪 Walking for all the boys who can’t! 💚

4 years ago*** THE WALK IS BACK ON *** On the 1st October, the fat lads shall be released again and attempt to walk from London Bridge to Canterbury Cathedral along the old pilgrims route. Covering almost 80 miles in three days (a marathon per day) we shall be camping along the route and carrying all supplies in order to raise some money for the future care and needs for Ralphy and the family. I understand it's tough times at the moment and short notice but please give anything you can.

5 years agoWith the current situation and the fat lads having high risk little people at home we are unfortunately going to have to postpone our little stroll. The new dates will be announced as soon as restrictions are lifted and we can plan again. If anyone would like their donations returned until the walk is planned again, please let me know, otherwise I will forward the collected funds to the Jarretts.
