Story
Keep the Phoenix flames burning.
The Phoenix Club is a respected social group for adults with learning and physical disabilities in Aberdeen, Scotland, that has been in existence for some 40 years.
After many successful years running in Torry, following the retirement of its long term leader Pam Gallant, in order to stop the club closing Inchgarth Community Centre stepped in with a plan to ensure its long term survival. The club is now under the management of Inchgarth Community Centre but the focus remains: to deliver social, friendship, fun and learning opportunities for the club members to enrich their lives.
The core remit of the Phoenix club is to promote inclusion, equality and confidence whilst giving the members a safe environment to meet friends.
We are looking to make people "a friend of the phoenix club" through donating to our crowdfunding appeal . Any donation will raise the vital funds to ensure the club delivers an art class and tutor, transport to allow the members to attend and to give the members a year trip to the pantomime for a special Christmas treat.
As well as getting a thank you on our facebook page and a shout out on the official Friends of the Phoenix Club roll within the community centre, every donation over £10 will be put into a draw and once a month, every month, for 2017 we will be drawing a prize.
We will also be approaching local businesses to sponsor specific parts of the phoenix club, such as the Art Teacher for a year, or to supply gifts for the raffle.
The cost of running the Phoenix Club is £5500 per year.
This campaign is being run as part of the social responsibility of ethical marketing company SM Marketing - http://www.sm-marketing.co.uk and Inchgarth Community Centre - http://www.inchgarth.org with all money outside justgivings cost going to the Phoenix Club, monies over the total will go into the clubs long term emergency account.
