My friend Phil a double amputee has had his mobility scooter stolen, smashed to pieces and dumped. How can anyone be so cruel! Someone has kindly donated one until they can save up to buy a new one. Phil enjoys going on his scooter to the park with his wife kath and grandchildren. The scooter gives him some freedom and independance to be able to live a normal life and enables him to spend time outdoors with family & friends. Phil and kath where a very outgoing couple with full time jobs which enabled them to have active social lives, Phil a keen Manchester united supporter loving football both enjoying partys, derby days, holidays and generally living life to the full. Unfortunately Phil became ill and after spending a long time in hospital eventaully had to have both his legs amputated. Kath a full time retail manager had to give her job up to become Phils full time carer. I rememeber how didficult it was for them and to see how far they have come and how they have learned to live with this and still be happy breaks my heart that someone can upset them and take away the freedom they have. Anyone who knows them will tell you what amazing people they are. Caring, thoughtful, loyal, funny,selfless, best friends, hearts of gold, welcoming and thats just a few of the thoughts that come to my head when i think of Phil and Kath. Please help me raise the money to replace the scooter and insure it. Lets get Phil his independance back and take away the financial stress and get him his replacement scooter. Thanks everyone.
