    Story

Following a long battle with ill health, Philip Hopcroft died peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Thursday April 1st with his wife Shirley and his two sons Greig and Blair by his side. He was 62 years old.

The family want to thank the amazing staff at Ward 34, Victoria Hospital, for the care they gave Phil and his family over the last few years and in particular in his last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a donation to Ward 34 in Phil's name, if you wish to contribute then you can do so via this Just Giving page.

The funeral will be on Friday 16th April and will be private due to current restrictions. The funeral cars will leave the family home at 12.15pm before passing the Novar Bar at 12.25pm, heading along Links Street and then passing Stark's Park at 12.30pm. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so but should adhere to social distancing.

The money will go straight back into helping the patients in ward 34 and we as a family are all so so grateful to each and every one of you who donated to such a fantastic cause in dad’s name. Dad will never be forgotten and he would be so proud of what we managed to achieve to give just a little something back. Once again thanks to everyone.

Today Mum, Blair and I went to the Victoria Hospital to meet up with some of the brilliant staff from ward 34. They all took such great care of dad over the years. They treated both dad and mum so well and always with such a friendly and welcoming manner - nothing was ever too much trouble. We presented a cheque for £3,500 which was the total collected in dad’s memory before and after his funeral in the JustGiving collection online and in cash donations.
