I've raised £5000 to renovate the football pitches at Petts Wood Football Club

of funding to keep our football pitches in good condition by first renovating them and then performing regular maintenance. All the money the club raises goes back into the running of the football club and we do not have enough funds to renovate the pitches and we are struggling to find enough money to keep them maintained effectively.
With the lack of funds for this essential project we thought that crowdfunding would be one way to raise the money to perform the renovation work.
The football pitches were originally created from farm land and the depth of the top soil is thin. The ground has a stone and shingle base which is good for drainage. Our main issue is top soil depth - we need to increase the depth of top soil in order to maintain it and provide a quality playing service.
The pitches are heavily used at the weekends and the increased usage over the last few years has left them worn, impacted, uneven and the key areas such as the goal mouths the pitches are muddy and pitted.
All the money raised will be used to renovate the football pitches. We need to aerate the pitches, lay up to 370 tonnes of top soil and when the time is right we need to over-seed the pitches using 72 bags of Rye Grass and finally fertilise the pitches.
We are hoping to raise substantial funds from the Football Foundation, £15,000 from the London Marathon Charitable Trust, £5,000 from Hayes Trust and then raise another £5,000 ourselves to ensure all funding is matched. This is important as funding has to be matched for it to be successful.
So please help us to raise £5,000 to put towards the overall funding.
We hope to find other ways of raising additional funding so that we can do more during the renovation period.
