I've raised £200 to help fund the social and environmental charitable work of The Wood Store (Brighton & Hove Wood Recycling Project)

The Wood Store is a registered charity, and social enterprise, set-up to save resources and to create jobs and volunteering opportunities for local people – especially for those experiencing disadvantage and those marginalised from the labour market. We are part of an award-winning nationwide network of thirty similar enterprises.
The Wood Store is at the heart of the transformation to a low-carbon circular economy. We turn waste into a resource, saving hundreds of tonnes of reusable timber from going to land-fill or incineration, reducing the need for raw materials and imported goods.
Over the past year we have worked with and supported 115 volunteers, many experiencing disadvantages and health issues including: autism, loneliness, unemployment, lack of formal qualifications, chronic fatigue, criminal conviction, disability and financial difficulties.
We are working with a growing number of referral agencies including: Skills Training UK, Whitehead Ross, Plumpton College, The MET, BHCC Supported Employment, Probation Service, Job Centre ex-offenders service.
