Our Story

Hi! - We're three paramedics, Dave, Chris, and Pete, from Lancashire (NWAS), and we're undertaking the National 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for the North West Ambulance Service Charity and the Anthony Nolan charity (see below for why we picked them).

Our National 3 Peaks Challenge will start at 0600hrs on the 7th of June, and we aim to complete it within 24 hours! The challenge is our commitment to summiting the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1345m), England (Scafell Pike, 978m), and Wales (Snowden Yr Wyddfa, 1085m) – of course, we'll be updating everyone with pictures and videos along the way so you can track our progress!

The cost of transport, equipment, and accommodation will be paid for by ourselves. 100% of the money raised through JustGiving will be split equally (50/50) between the Northwest Ambulance Service Charity and the Anthony Nolan Charity.

Thank you for joining us on our fundraising journey and for supporting these two incredible charities – now, let's do this!

Our Chosen Charities

Deciding which charities to fundraise for was a tough challenge itself; there are so many good causes to fundraise for. After chatting, we decided to fundraise for the North West Ambulance Service Charity and the Anthony Nolan Charity – here's why…

The North West Ambulance Service Charity funds lifesaving equipment such as public defibrillators (AEDs) and CPR training for the communities, equipment and training for our community first responders (CFRs), and projects to benefit the health and well-being of our staff (dedicated welfare vehicles, outdoor areas, and special-occasion gifts).

The Anthony Nolan charity saves and improves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders. The work of the Anthony Nolan charity was brought sharply into focus for us recently when one of our local colleagues was diagnosed with Leukaemia after more than 20 years in remission. This charity makes lifesaving connections between patients and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells, funding ground-breaking research that aims to transform the future for more patients, then provides the best experience for every patient before, during and after transplants.

Notes

We have had to use Crowdfunding on JustGiving as standard JustGiving only allows fundraising for a single charity. We will provide proof and a donation receipt for transparency. The cost of transport, equipment, and accommodation will be paid for by ourselves. 100% of the money raised through JustGiving will be split equally (50/50) between the Northwest Ambulance Service Charity and the Anthony Nolan Charity.
