Story

New official data suggests one in 10 children in Northern Ireland live in a "food insecure" household. Food insecurity likely increased during the pandemic but the staggering rise in food prices has also contributed meaning more families in our community are relying more on our local food banks.

Food banks provided more than 2.1 million food parcels across the UK in the past year and this figure will most likely be doubled by the end of 2022. Therefore, People 1st have chosen their local food banks (each office has chosen their local one) as our charity for the year to raise much needed funds to help provide food for those who need it most.

Follow us on our social medias as we virtually tour our 15 offices starting at our Head Office in Malone, Belfast, travelling to Newry, up to Donegal and them back to Malone, visiting all the offices in between.

Thank you to all those who are donating sponsorship for our "15 million miles, 15 offices, £15,000 Sponsored Walk - helping to fight local food poverty one step at a time"
