My very lovely friend Aurelia died last year of a brain tumour and there are a number of people close to me currently battling cancer. The Hummingbird centre is amazing! Local, always there, offering help in so many ways, and has been deeply appreciated by my friends unfortunate enough to need it. This is not a big charity. It's not on the Just Giving list of charities and I think every penny will make a real difference to it.

As a way of attempting to improve my own health at the same time as raising some money I afm taking on a couple of challenges over the next six months. I have signed up for the Blenheim Triathlon Super Sprint at the beginning of June. Those of you that know me will already be laughing! You know this is a big challenge!! As a way of getting started I plan to complete another challenge. I am going to swim the distance of the English Channel in my local pool over 12 weeks. I start the 5th Feb and should complete before the 1st May. This is the equivalent of around 50 lengths 3 times a week. I have managed to do this once before many years ago. However I tried last year and failed!

Please give whatever you can to comit me to seeing through these challenges and raise plenty of money for this fab local charity.
