Story

Pawz in Need Wirral are a pet food bank for the people of Wirral. It was started in 2018 after founder Vikki noticed that many animals at rescue centres came from loving family homes, but that they had hit upon hardship and couldn’t afford to feed and care for their pets properly anymore.

This charity relies entirely on donations from the public. I have seen first hand how vitally important this charity is to the people of Wirral as I volunteer to deliver food to those in need. Many of these people will feed their pets before even thinking about feeding themselves - nobody should ever find themselves in this position.

I myself have been in the position with needing help after my dog suffered kidney failure. Luckily I have a support network who helped me with this, but so many people are not as lucky.

This charities work has only increased following the pandemic and is needed now more than ever. However, with steady monthly costs and waning donations, this wonderful charity is now at risk of closure.

I want to do everything I can to keep this charity going. Short term this charity needs enough money to continue helping the people of Wirral and beyond, However long term with enough fundraising a store could be set up, which would make the charity self sufficient.

I appreciate times are tough for everyone lately with the pandemic - but even a share would help raise awareness for this incredible cause. Thank you.
