Story

Parkbourn Wildflower Garden supported by Friends of Maghull & District CIC

In 2018, our community came together to remove mountains of fly tipping, tarmac surface and stopped ASB to create a wildflower oasis cherished by everyone.

However, the grass and weeds overwhelmed the wildflowers, so now we would like to introduce shrubs, blue bell & daffodil bulbs on the outside border with weed suppressant bark. In the middle triangle, which has several inches of topsoil covering the tarmac we want to reintroduce an abundance of wildflowers with a large dose of yellow rattle wildflowers which are notorious for reducing invasive grass.

With your kind support we can make this cherished Eden even better whilst reducing future maintenance. The story was introduced in the local newspaper (3.7.19): Derelict land transformed into a wildflower garden
