Iʼve raised £1,045 to Help 89 year old Beryl Daniels recover from the tragic fire that destroyed her home on 26th October

    Story

On Friday 26th October at 7.15, a deadly fire swept through the bungalow in Park Lane, tragically claiming the life of one of the occupants. Fire crews were able to rescue an 89 year old lady from the house, fortunately her injuries were not serious, but she has lost her son, her home and all her belongings. All she has now is the nightdress she was carried from the building in.

This fundraiser is to help provide her with the basics that she needs to help her get through the immediate aftermath of the fire, to provide money for food and clothes. Please donate as much as you can spare.

    Thank you.

      Update from the Page owner

I'm overwhelmed by the support and generosity of people - thank you all so, so much. To have raised so much money in just a week is incredible. This really will mean the world to Beryl and her family. For those of you that have asked about making non-financial donations, I'm waiting to hear what is happening with regards rehousing Beryl, once we know more we can look to set up a way for people to donate goods and furniture if that's something people would like to do. Thank you all so very much. You're all amazing. Andy

Thank you all so much for your support, the family are incredibly touched by the efforts of the community to help Beryl. I’m so happy that we’ve hit the initial target so quickly, and after speaking to the family today I’m going to keep the fund open for a bit longer. The family have been into the bungalow today to try and salvage what they can, but other than a few ornaments and memories, everything has been destroyed. Beryl is recovering well in hospital and is overwhelmed by the flowers, support and donations. Thank you all so much x

So sad to read this. Hopefully this small donation will help in some small way. Thinking of Beryl and her son. Thanks Andy for setting up a page so people and strangers like me can help her xx

Just brought a tear to my eye that this poor woman has left everything dear to her. Thought I’d take it to the £1000 mark with my donation. Deepest sympathies to the lady. Regards, Darren.

I live directly opposite the bungalow and have been deeply affected by these tragic events. Standing by and watching helplessly as the fire took hold was horrific. I couldn’t do anything to save the man inside, but hopefully this fundraiser will help the survivors to recover
