Story
Pandora Sellars, the world's leading botanical illustrator, died on 9th May 2017. In addition to her art which has been dispersed around the globe, her friends and family want to plant a living memorial in the hamlet where she lived. We are asking any of her friends who would like to commemorate her life to contribute to a fund to plant snowdrops 'in the green' next spring, rather than by sending flowers to the funeral or donations to any charity.
When her husband and artist, James Sellars, died in 2000 the planting of native snowdrops began and they look great each spring. There are many gaps, though, and I know, as her daughter, that she would have loved to see those gaps filled in with more snowdrops and this is what we plan to do.
All her friends will also be welcome to join in the planting next year!

Paul and I were very sad to hear that Paddy had died. We have such strong memories of her and of Jim. A warm, funny, self effacing lady. We would love to be present at the planting. Hilary

Pandora was an inspiration to me, and she changed the lay of the land for all those who followed her. Sharing a page spread with her in The Genus Paphiopedilum was not easy - her work was beyond all!
