Story

Pallisers is a family run agricultural and groundcare machinery business based in Hereford. The business was started by David Palliser who began working in the agricultural industry in 1975 as a trainee sales representative, later moving into management. In November 1993 David and his wife Anna started the company.

Unfortunately in recent years David has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has taken a step back from running the business to allow his children's families to take the business forward. David still loves his machines and enjoys hearing about how the business is thriving, still with his family at the heart of it. So, our decision to raise money for our first charity; Alzheimers Society is very close to our hearts as a business.

Our second charity is St Michaels Hospice, Hereford who do a fantastic job of caring for people at home and at the hospice. Again, this charity is a close one for us as they have been very involved in helping people close to us.

Our final charity is We are Farming Minds, another local charity that helps raise mental health awareness in the rural communities of Herefordshire and support the wellbeing of farmers across the land. Being a farming business, we know how important it is to support our farmers and shine a light on the sometimes taboo subject of mental health in rural communities.

So, what are we going to be doing to raise money for these fantastic charities? Richard Palliser, Davids son is naturally very passionate about raising money for to help our chosen charities and with a background in farming and his own farm at home, he will be tackling a substantial challenge to raise as many funds as possible! A 24 hour Shear-A-thon! Shearing as many sheep as possible within a 24 hour period. Now, for those that dont know, shearing is a very physically demanding job and requires not just agility and speed, but accuracy and care. Richard will be on stage at our Grassland Event (welcome for all families), over a 24 hours period and all donations will be going towards the charities mentioned! Please join us on the day, or if you cant make it, then a donation on our page would be very much appreicated!

Event details: 9th & 10th June 2023
