Story
As the Mayoresses of Lewisham and volunteers at Evelyn Community Store, we are launching a campaign to ensure no Lewisham child goes hungry over this years October half term.
Since the COVID 19 outbreak have seen a 13% in the number of people applying for and receiving free school meals across Lewisham as families struggle to make ends meet.
In Lewisham we have so many fantastic community organisations and projects helping to feed our families and ensure nobody goes to bed hungry.
We are starting the Lewisham Packed Lunch appeal to try and raise enough funds to feed some of the 13,000 families who rely on free school meals throughout the October half term.
With the uncertainty of the pandemic and many parents losing their jobs, there has never been a more important time to come together as a community and to ensure those who need it get the help they deserve.
