I've raised £8000 to get more defibrillators into the local community.

This is Oscar, my 14 year old nephew who is mad about mountain biking.
In November 2022, Oscar suffered a cardiac arrest whilst out biking. Oscar is usually so fit and healthy; we had no idea he had an underlying heart condition. Oscar's collapsed on a bike ride and stopped breathing. His life was saved by the quick thinking of one individual there that night and a life-saving piece of equipment.
Luckily, the people there that night, managed to perform CPR and get a defibrillator from the local village very quickly. This ultimately resulted in saving his life and had there not been a defibrillator so close, we know that Oscar would not have survived. Oscar was rushed to Bristol's Children's Hospital, and placed in a coma for a few days before open heart surgery, to fix the issue the Doctor's found with his heart.
We are so grateful that Oscar is on the road to recovery and it's because of that machine and of course our hero Mike. Because of this, we want more defibrillators in the local community! Cornwall is made up of such rural areas, that in some circumstances, ambulances would not be able to reach a patient in time, so these machines are so vital here. We are talking life or death within a matter of minutes!
We hope you will support us in raising as much money as we can for this cause. We had initially set up a target of £1500, we hit that within 24 hours, so we upped it to £5000 which we've now hit that too. New target of £8000, which is the equivalent of 4 defibrillators being installed in locked and heated cabinets. Thank you for your support.
