The Outdoor Guide Foundation

The Outdoor Guide Foundation was started by TV presenter and walking guru Julia Bradbury and her sister Gina. It aims to make the outdoors accessible for children. The Foundation donates outdoor kit to schools and enable all kids to enjoy Vitamin N (Nature)…whatever the weather!.

Kids get outside less than prison inmates due to wrong clothing

1 in 10 school children have a diagnosable mental health condition. The Children’s Society says that spending time outdoors and in nature enhances a young person’s short and long-term well-being. It is also known to improve mental development and personal fulfilment.

Operation Welly Boot 

Operation Welly Boot is a fundraising hike in the Peak District 9th December 2023. A group of 8 full sized toy green soldiers are on the march for funds! Raising funds for Portishead Primary, Church Lane Nursery, Fir Tree, Glapthorn CE School, Hope Valley and Edale Primary Schools.

The team are dressing up as 8 toy green soldiers and marching in wintry weather near the picturesque village of Castleton. Your donation will help towards equipping schools across the country with much needed outdoor kit to include providing each child with the basics for jumping in a puddle - Wellington boots, a hooded waterproof jacket & over-trousers, enabling outdoor play no matter the weather!
