    Story

Creating Brighter Tomorrows for Every Child...

It's time for real change. My family and I have decided to sell up in the UK and make the big move to South Africa.

Up until this year, Opening Doors had been a charitable initiative I ran alongside my software development company, Intellek. As of April 4th, 2024, Opening Doors is now a legitimate Non-Profit Organisation in South Africa!

Opening Doors was founded to open doors to education, a safe space, and new opportunities as we help break the cycle of adversity through collaboration with local communities, authorities, and other NPOs.

The BIG vision is a create a community where every child is valued, protected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

In collaboration with the local authorities, police departments and organisations we will be providing emergency shelter, temporary care and a safe place for vulnerable children including those abandoned or in need of immediate protection, with the help of our qualified team.

We will also be creating a community outreach program in the communities in Inchanga, Hammersdale and nearby, where I have been volunteering for 15+ years, in partnership with another NPO. We’ll be helping young mums by offering workshops and support groups, helping families who can’t afford school uniforms and offering skills development courses. With more in the pipeline for 2025 and beyond!

We're excited to be 'boots on the ground' full-time and be able to offer several employment opportunities, where they’re so needed.

This is the first fundraising round, and all money raised will go towards setting up the children’s home. We’ve shipped a HUGE number of items over with us, all of which have been kindly donated. This includes clothing, bottles, nappies, car seats, high chairs etc.

Once we move into our new property, which is where the children’s home will be, so we’re onsite, we’ll need funds to get all the bedrooms set up, create a play area, and purchase day-to-day essentials.

Please follow our journey on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram.

We appreciate your support and encouragement.

    Claire, Jay & Aaron xx
