Opening Doors was founded to open doors to education, a safe space, and new opportunities as we help break the cycle of adversity through collaboration with local communities, authorities, and other NPOs.

The BIG vision is a create a community where every child is valued, protected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Our Community Outreach Program

One of our key initiatives is our community outreach program, supporting families in Inchanga, Hammersdale, and surrounding areas. This includes:

👕 Back to School Program – Too many children are missing out on education simply because they don’t have a school uniform and stationary. We’re helping to change that.

🍼 Baby Boxes – Providing essentials like clothes, nappies, and formula to young mums and GoGos (grandmothers) who are caring for newborns, because Mama has left :-(

🍲 Food Parcels – Many families struggle to afford even basic food staples. Our food parcels provide enough essential supplies to feed a family of 4 - 6 for a month and typically include: A large bag of maize meal (mealie meal), rice or potatoes, lentils or beans, cooking oil, toilet roll, soap and basic hygiene items, canned goods (if available) and other essentials depending on donations and needs.

Our Current Campaign

This year, we’ve already provided 62 children with school uniforms and stationery, but that’s just a drop in the ocean. Many families we support are also struggling to afford basic necessities like food.

We’re aiming to raise £1000 to provide even more school uniforms and supply food parcels to those who need them most.
