Journalists risk their lives every day to bring us news from the most dangerous corners of the world. Many have been killed in pursuit of the truth. Can you help put their stories 'on the record'?

On The Record Memorial will be a striking, poignant and enduring tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of all UK-based reporting teams who gather news from conflict zones. Proposed for the National Memorial Arboretum, On The Record will stand alongside over 420 memorials to those who have served and sacrificed at the Nation's year-round place to Remember.

The On The Record memorial will be complemented by a Digital Tribute, an online database created and hosted by Press Gazette, to help tell the stories of these reporters, preserving their legacy and ensuring their own achievements and experiences are put ‘on the record’ in perpetuity.

On The Record has just been granted charitable status (RCN 1211299) and this crowdfunder is to raise the initial funds to launch the project, which includes (but is not limited to) the design competition. A JustGiving fundraiser for the On The Record Memorial itself will be set up in due course.
