UPDATE: We are bowled over by the generosity of and kindness of everyone that has donated to the appeal so far. We didn't think we would get anywhere near to our £1000 target but please help us smash our target. We have applied for a grant of just under £20,000, so still need to raise £2,000 from either donations here or we will look for other smaller grants and do some more fundraising activities. Thank you to everyone that has given already :-)

Onibury Village Hall has a leaking extension which is causing damp and black mould to grow. We need to take off a portion of the roof and make it good. A recent survey showed that there is asbestos where we need to work, so now we have to pay a lot to have that professionally removed and disposed of.

We did a fire risk assesment, so now also need to have our old chairs tidied up and recovered in fire retardent fabrics, along with the the stage curtains. After all of that, we will also need to repaint inside and out.

However, on the brightside, once it's all done, we'll have a village hall that will hopefully be available for the community to use well into the future.

Currently the village hall is well used and has regular activities that include: line dancing, chair yoga, pilates, bingo, country and western nights and african drumming.

The local primary school are also planning to start using it from next year for the school play. On top of that it is used by the rest of the community for events, chairty fundraisers and lots of children's birthday parties.

Please help the volunteers that run the building keep it open for the future, thank you :-)
