Story
In May 2021 our colleague received the devastating news that her granddaughter Abigail age 7, had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage 4 neuroblastoma. Abigail began a very long and intense treatment plan.
2 years further down the line Abigail has now had an unreal 27 rounds of chemotherapy, after only expecting to have 7 rounds. Abigail has then gone on to have an extremely intense course of specialist radiation therapy and is currently receiving yet more chemotherapy. This amazing girl has been in and out of hospital, she has had numerous bone aspirations, procedures, tests and scans and truth be told has one of the rarest diagnoses going. We are trying to raise funds to allow her family to create memories during this still very uncertain time. https://www.gofundme.com/f/abbys-fight-against-neuroblastoma
We have chosen to also support The Make A Wish Foundation, as just recently the Ford family went on a Make A Wish adventure to London for 4 days. They all had a fantastic time with some of the highlights been visits to the Crystal Maze set, life size Monopoly, The London Eye, 2 Museums and a Chauffeur driven limousine sightseeing tour. This was all made possible by the Make A Wish Foundation and the Ford's are very grateful to them. They asked that any funds raised be shared with them.
On the 2nd Of September Paul, Shane, Hubert, Ashley, Eleanor, and Ollie are aiming to complete The Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge . Please help us reach our target for the 2 causes we have chosen.
Update: Now completed, what an amazing achievement from them all.
Watch this space for some up coming news as Shane and Hubert want to do it again to see if they can better their time, along with some other people who were not able to do the first one.
ALSO
On the 24th of September Emma Olivier (Paul's wife) Will be having a drastic hair cut to help raise funds for the 2 causes. This will take place in our Barnard Castle shop window at 12 Noon. Emma will be having at least 8 inches chopped off her locks and she will be donating this hair to the Little Princess Trust. Also............ Steve (Abby's Granddad) and Julian (friend) will be having their heads shaved too.

Us ladies thought we wanted to show our support for the fundraising efforts so some of the staff have decided to do a sponsored sea dip. We will be joined by some family and friends. Brr it was very cold when we did it 2 years ago. This will take place at Seaton Carew Beach on 14th October, but some people who wish to help but are not available that date will do it the weekend before. Oh dear Gina (Abby's Grandma) gets to do it twice. Relatives in Scotland are planning to do their own Sea Dip north of the border.
