Story

Our first fundraiser will be the Shrewsbury 10k on March 18th!

Runners include, Phil Newman, Elliot Goode, Andrew Evans, Nathan Rous, Tim Stone, Steve and Jeanette Panayi and many more of Steve’s friends.

We thank every single one of you for supporting, donating and cheering on all of the runners - Come on Nollys’ Barmy Army!

The money raised will be put towards a number of different things including the intial setup of the foundation, reinvested into further events and projects and also donations to the hospital.

We are setting up the Steve Newman Blue Sky Foundation in memory of Steve and in the words of Susan, this is why..

“Steve Newman was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) August 12th 2016.

A wonderful husband to Susan and a loving father and step-father to Myles Olivia and Elliot he never once faultered in his pure determination to conquer this cruel disease, and resume normal life again.

Recieving treatment at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and a bone marrow transplant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Consultants and Nursing staff alike soon began to recognise the unique bravery and relentless positivity Steve showed throughout his intense treatment. Even in his darkest of days.he would be on top of his game!

However, Steve sadly passed away on November 21 2017, aged 50 years.

The Steve Newman Blue Sky foundation represents optimism, positive attitude and hopefulness in one day finding a cure for Leukemia.

Steve Newman was a thoughtful and kind man with a sense of humour and a very forward thinking attitude to resolving any given situation. Through our fundraising we will honour his name by our continuous efforts to fulfil his legacy in finding a cure.“
